Our Farm
History
After deciding that we wanted to raise horses,we were able to purchase land just south of the city of Humboldt. We are located about one hundred kilometers east of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and about two hundred kilometers north of Regina, Saskatchewan.
The first building that we built was a barn that would be functional in winter and summer, designed exclusively for horses. This was the first time that these four Haflingers experienced a four horse hitch and they did amazingly well! We are finding out that we can expect this type of performance from our Haflingers!
Inside the barn there is a tack room, two large box stalls, six stanchions, and an office off to the side. The Percherons are getting their hooves trimmed on this day.
The second building we built was a pole barn for storing hay, which now also keeps a couple of tractors under cover. The Percherons are hitched to a Shiloh wagon that we picked up from Shiloh Wagon Works in Vining, Minnesota
